Searching – 1985 Applause Precious Moments WHITE & PINK RABBIT

We now have a mailing list of people looking for this rabbit. Wanda is still looking, but the cost has been prohibitive.

Wanda’s story gives such a powerful voice to the emotional trauma of childhood bullying that I hope you share it.

White Precious Moments 1985 RabbitI’m looking for a Snowball 1985 Precious Moments by Applause plush white rabbit. It has the pink satin feet, and pink inside the ears, and a pink satin covered nose and has tear drop shaped eyes. She wore a plastic pink heart locket around her neck that said on the inside “Some Bunny Cares”.

This bunny was very special to me, because as a child, I was bullied in school because of being extremely shy, and the other kids thought I was weird. I had no friends except for my cats, and my plush animals. Whenever I was in school, being tormented, I couldn’t wait to get home to play with my “friends”.

When I first saw the bunny in a Hallmark store back then, it was love at first site. The locket’s message “Some Bunny Cares” meant so much to me. I wanted so much at that time for someone to care. I think it was over $20.00 back then, and my mom almost didn’t get her for me. But she finally bought her for me for Easter. My mom knew what I was going through, and that there was nothing she could do about it, so I think that’s why she gave in.

We had pajama day at school that year, and I took my bunny that day. I remember being laughed at for bringing a toy, even though some of the other girls had pacifiers hanging around their necks of all things. The bunny was taken from me and thrown back and forth. I started crying, not just because of my beloved bunny, but mostly because I was being tormented once again. That just made them laugh even more, because I was acting like a “baby” who had their toy taken away. I did get her back, and cried myself to sleep that night.

I would just like to have my old friend back. It would be nice to have her near. The scars from my past are still with me, so I would like to have some of the nicer things with me as well.

Sorry for such a long post. If anyone knows where I can find one of these bunnies, I would appreciate it.

Thanks so much :)

Wanda

What is it about this toy? I have one and was about to write about it, but I’m terrified someone just wants it so they can sell it on Ebay. How can a donater be sure that someone’s not just in it to resell it? Anyone can make a sad story, but the truth is, someone can truly turn a profit out of needing extremely rare toys.

    A.D.,

While I do believe there have been some people trying to get some super cheap stuffed animals out there, I think Rosemary has done a great job with people who truly need these toys. With Wanda here, I do believe she misses her bunny and has no intention of reselling her. The problem with this bunny is not everyone can afford the $100 price tag that accompanies it. So I don’t think she is looking for a hand out necessarily, but I think she is looking for one cheaper than $100.

Thanks, Brieanna. I really don’t know what to say to you, A.D. I’m not in a position to check out people’s stories, but choose to trust that good comes out of what we do. It’s entirely up to each person as to whether they believe the stories here at face value or not.

Thank you for all the replies. It looks as if I have missed some good ones that have been for sale on ebay. Replies to this must have been going into my spam box, because the one I found in my inbox today was the first I have gotten in quite awhile.

I did find a precious moments bunny a few weeks ago, that is quite worn, and is a little worse condition then the most recent ebay one posted.
I think mine had the light blue eyes as well, so I will keep looking for that one, and one with a locket. But the one I have now will do until then, so I am happy. :)
I do want to comment because someone was afraid that I, or other people may be making up stories to make a profit or resell. I can understand why someone would worry about that, since it seems to be selling sometimes for $80-$100. But because it is an older toy, it stands to reason that it is going to be more valuable now, like most name brand toys. I’m not looking for anyone to donate one to me. I knew that people helped “find” them by looking on ebay and such. And by the looks of it, there have been a couple on ebay recently for around $30.00. By telling my story, I never once expected to get one for free. I just want to find one that isn’t around $100.00. I just can’t justify spending that much on myself.
Thanks so much to everyone that has been looking. :)
