DISCONTINUED – 80′s Mattel SPARKLINS BEAR with STARS on PURPLE SATIN

Dena’s email address is no longer valid, but we still have a mailing list for the PJ Sparkles dolls and the Sparklins pets.

I am looking for a purple Sparklins bear that came out in the 80′s. When new it had a pink heart necklace.

My niece is 24 and just recently became drug free and is getting her life back together. She had a very rough childhood, and this doll was the one thing she clung to when things got bad.

If you can help me find this again, I know it would make her very, very happy.

Plushmemories.com is in the July, 2011 Issue of PARENTING Magazine!

I haven’t found an online version of it, but Plush Memories Lost Toy Search Service is featured in an article by Kim Hays titled “Find a Lost Lovey” on page 33 of the July, 2011 issue of PARENTING MAGAZINE!

There’s a precious picture of a baby sucking away on a green lovie, and right below it is an article about US and another site that helps find lovies, lostmylovey.com.

IF We Can’t FIND Your Childhood Lovie – How about a REPLICA or PAINTING?

We still have a mailing list of people looking for this very blankie!

We’ve been able to help several people find this 80′s Knickerbocker 14″ blankie with a white knit SNOOPY dog head and paws in the center. It’s a pastel blue plaid blankie with blue satin binding. There’s a head hole for a puppet, but not in the hands.

But there are other requests for help here on Plush Memories for the precious lovies of childhood memories that we have not been able to find. Sometimes they don’t even have a photo, but can only give us what they remember about their favorite childhood toy. Those are usually the hardest to find, but sometimes even a photo isn’t enough to be able to locate one.

That’s where our favorite crafter and an artist we have recently learned about may be able to help. Susan is an excellent plush animal crafter who can create a replica of  a lovie, if you have enough information about measurements and plenty of photos.

But if all you have is a photo, and you can’t give enough information to create a replica…then maybe Jennifer can help. Here’s her portrait of the Snoopy blankie from the 80′s that she painted for someone. Maybe she can help you hold onto the memory of your rapidly disintegrating childhood friend.

DISCONTINUED – INFORMATION about 90′s PUFFALUMP STYLE Set of 3 ELEPHANTS

I’m not searching for a back-up or helping, though I wish I could, but I’m trying to figure out who made two blue elephant stuffed animals I’ve owned most of my life. This is only one of them, because the second one is very old, and you wouldn’t be able to tell what it looks like. This one is closer to the original look, but has been patched up. From the top of the head all the way down the the bottom he’s 12 inches and from the tip to tip of the hands is 11 inches. I’m guessing they were made around 1993 – 1996 ish.

They also don’t look like Puffalumps from when they were created. I know there’s a third one out there in the world that I would actually like to find and give him a home, and I’ve seen someone else with a rabbit that was made exactly like the elephants.

Anyone know of someone who made these knockoff elephants that are like Puffalumps?

DISCONTINUED – Carter’s WHITE RABBIT with BROWN EARS & FEET

We still have a very long mailing list of families looking for this same rabbit.

I’m looking for a Carter’s Just One Year white and brown bunny. The rabbit is approximately 13 inches tall from head to toe. It’s white with brown paws and ears. The eyes and mouth are stitched on while the nose is plastic. There is no voice box or rattle in this little guy, just beans in his feet and bottom. It was sold by Target back in 2009 I believe.

My little girl fell in love with this rabbit and took him with her everywhere. Bunny was always by her side. She has been to the heart doctor every six months since birth and bunny has always been with her to comfort her.

Unfortunately she lost her best bunny buddy on a recent outing. We went back and searched high and low without success. She is heartbroken over the loss of this bunny, and I am desperately looking to replace him. No other toy is comforting her the way bunny did.

Any help anyone can provide to find this little guy is so very much appreciated.

DISCONTINUED – MOSHI LARGE WHITE LAMB with PINK FACE, BLACK HOOVES

Kathleen is also still for this lamb.

I’m looking for a MOSHI large white lamb with a pink face and black hooves. It has a microbead filling, and it’s 17 inches long.

I bought this lamb on an impulse buy. Our daughter was 1 year old, and I thought the lamb was cute. She didn’t take to it right away, but that soon changed. It started by taking “Lamie” to the doctor. It made our daughter feel better about going. We moved when our daughter was 3 years old, and she had to start sleeping in a “big” bed in her new room. It was Lamie that made her feel safe. Lamie travels with us and as you can imagine, she has been washed more times that I can count.

Our daughter is now 7 and Lamie is showing signs of severe wear. Our daughter woke up crying one day last week, because Lamie was losing beads (there is a small tear in the face) and some beads fell out and were found in the bed. Tears were streaming from her face at the thought of having to “store” Lamie for safe keeping. I have suggested another stuffed animal but she won’t have it!!!

I would like to surprise her with another Lamie. I know it won’t be the same, but I can’t stand the thought of her being so sad. I appreciate your help with this request.

DISCONTINUED – 70′s Mattel NAPPER TAN TALKING DOG

Wendy has decided to stop searching for a Napper in better condition. She writes:

Thank you so much for the help, but I think I’ll just enjoy my own very worn Napper. Seems many others are looking, with high prices, etc. So, I’m no longer looking. Sorry that I have probably missed many, many emails. I’ve been mostly bedridden for a long time now, and very rarely see my email.

I think what you do is a very kind and loving thing. We all need comfort. Sometimes it is easiest accepted by a cherished childhood friend.

I’m looking for a 70′s Napper the talking dog made by Mattel that is still in working condition. He would say phrases such as ”I’m lonely”, ”Ruff, Ruff, Ruff”, and some others.

I still have my Napper, and I will always keep him! I would love to someday have another. My friend when I was little had the lamb version. Napper (mine barely, but still does, work, kinda sorta) says -I feel so lonely!,-my name is napper!, -you’re so good to me!,-I’m so sleepy, -(barking-like noise) followed with rub, rub, rub my tummy! Those are all I can remember right now. I got mine for Christmas in 1980, and I always dried my tears on his ears. He was my favorite toy of my entire childhood.

DISCONTINUED but STILL Searching – PBK Pottery Barn Kids TAN & WHITE BEAR with BROWN STITCHING

Steph’s baby has found other lovies to replace this bear, but we still have a mailing list of people looking for this bear.

Several years before my youngest daughter was born, I found a precious chamois 13 inch teddy bear at Pottery Barn Kids. It is tan and white with brown stitching.

I secretly hoped that it would be a special lovey if we had another baby. Sure enough, our now 5 month old daughter is attached! She adores her little bear lovey.

I am now on the search for another 1 or 2 for safe keeping. Having three other daughters who once had their own special things, I know how easily they can be misplaced or lost and also how sad that is for a baby.

If anyone could help me locate some more of these sweet little bears, I would be incredibly grateful. I have found some on eBay for $50.00-$75.00, but I can’t afford to pay that much for it.

Site Problems are Fixed – Keeping Fingers Crossed

I apologize that our sites have been down off and on for the last few days through no fault of our own.

I’m looking for a 70′s Napper the talking dog made by Mattel that is still in working condition. He would say phrases such as ”I’m lonely”, ”Ruff, Ruff, Ruff”, and some others.

It is amazing how dear and comforting this little dog was to so many! My daughter is 30, and still misses him. Mattel is missing an opportunity – they should bring him back. I have been looking for three years. with no luck. Can’t even find something similar.

I made the mistake of discarding him because the voice mechanism worn out. I don’t think she has ever completely forgiven me. I would really like to replace him. Her little girl is 3 yrs old, and it would be so perfect.

Discount Program – Fisher Price HAPPY REWARDS

We were recently made aware of the Fisher Price Happy Rewards discount program that allows families to purchase their brand of diapers and earn points toward ANY Fisher Price product, including toys. It does involve keeping track of points from the packaging and the receipts until you build enough points to be worthwhile, but it might be worth looking into if you have babies or toddlers in your family.

DISCONTINUED – 90′s Eden WHITE BEAR with PINK ABC SLEEPER

I’m looking for a White plush Eden teddy bear. It is white with pink inside the ears. It has a pink velour sleeper with ABC on the upper left chest, as well as a striped ribbon around its neck.

For the 16 years that I’ve been alive, he has been my “Bear Bear” and my best friend that I slept with, cuddled with, and took absolutely everywhere. I wore him out so badly that you wouldn’t be able to recognize him any more, and I recently lost him when I went on a trip. I am heartbroken and looking for a new one.

FOUND – GOFFA Lying Down Neon YELLOW, GREEN, HOT PINK DOG

I’m looking for a GOFFA 10 inch long floppy lying down bright yellow chenille dog with neon green ears and tail. It has a large hot pink nose and back patch and yellow velour feet. I do know my wife bought this at a Dollar General Store in 2008 for one dollar, and we haven’t seen it again.

My wife and I have been looking for this exact dog, because my wife bought this for our 3 year old granddaughter for her first Easter. Our granddaughter has not been separated from this dog, which she calls FOUFOU, since she received it. It is her security buddy.

The poor puppy has been washed and stitched up a lot and is getting in bad shape. My wife has even added stuffing to the puppy twice. We would really love to have a couple of spares so that when one is being washed or fixed she has the other. She gets upset and cries when the puppy is in the wash, and also every time she notices a hole in him it has to be fixed right away.

We have bought different colors and sizes of puppies, and she only wants this exact puppy. We let her see your website with her puppy on it, and she wants us to buy her more.

If anyone is able to find a FOUFOU, my wife and I would be grateful.

DISCONTINUED – Koala Baby GREEN STEGOSAURUS with BLUE SPOTS & SPIKES

Kyle has found one on eBay, but we no longer have a valid email address for Leah. That’s why this post is marked Discontinued.

I’m looking for a pale green and blue Stegosaurus dinosaur with blue spots and spikes, made by Koala Baby, which is sold by Toys R Us and Babies R Us. I bought one 4 years ago from a Babies R Us. I bought it for when my son was born to have for always as his first animal.

I have a ”Snuggles” bear that is turning 29 that I had when I was born. So its a huge deal he has his. Someone broke into our home and stole a lot of our stuff, including his toys, clothes, and his dinosaur he calls ”Tiny”. He is still crying and looking for him, and it’s been 4 months.

I hope someone can help. I have all my friends and family looking for one still, and it’s not going well.
