DISCONTINUED – 70′s Mattel NAPPER TAN TALKING DOG
Wendy has decided to stop searching for a Napper in better condition. She writes:
Thank you so much for the help, but I think I’ll just enjoy my own very worn Napper. Seems many others are looking, with high prices, etc. So, I’m no longer looking. Sorry that I have probably missed many, many emails. I’ve been mostly bedridden for a long time now, and very rarely see my email.
I think what you do is a very kind and loving thing. We all need comfort. Sometimes it is easiest accepted by a cherished childhood friend.

I’m looking for a 70′s Napper the talking dog made by Mattel that is still in working condition. He would say phrases such as ”I’m lonely”, ”Ruff, Ruff, Ruff”, and some others.
I still have my Napper, and I will always keep him! I would love to someday have another. My friend when I was little had the lamb version. Napper (mine barely, but still does, work, kinda sorta) says -I feel so lonely!,-my name is napper!, -you’re so good to me!,-I’m so sleepy, -(barking-like noise) followed with rub, rub, rub my tummy! Those are all I can remember right now. I got mine for Christmas in 1980, and I always dried my tears on his ears. He was my favorite toy of my entire childhood.

DISCONTINUED but STILL Searching – PBK Pottery Barn Kids TAN & WHITE BEAR with BROWN STITCHING
Steph’s baby has found other lovies to replace this bear, but we still have a mailing list of people looking for this bear.
Several years before my youngest daughter was born, I found a precious chamois 13 inch teddy bear at Pottery Barn Kids. It is tan and white with brown stitching.
I secretly hoped that it would be a special lovey if we had another baby. Sure enough, our now 5 month old daughter is attached! She adores her little bear lovey.
I am now on the search for another 1 or 2 for safe keeping. Having three other daughters who once had their own special things, I know how easily they can be misplaced or lost and also how sad that is for a baby.
If anyone could help me locate some more of these sweet little bears, I would be incredibly grateful. I have found some on eBay for $50.00-$75.00, but I can’t afford to pay that much for it.

Site Problems are Fixed – Keeping Fingers Crossed
I apologize that our sites have been down off and on for the last few days through no fault of our own.
I was able to take care of most of the comments, but a few of the lovies had already sold before I saw the comments. THAT is why I ask each Seeker to Subscribe to Comments on their posts. It is amazing how dear and comforting this little dog was to so many! My daughter is 30, and still misses him. Mattel is missing an opportunity – they should bring him back. I have been looking for three years. with no luck. Can’t even find something similar.
I made the mistake of discarding him because the voice mechanism worn out. I don’t think she has ever completely forgiven me. I would really like to replace him. Her little girl is 3 yrs old, and it would be so perfect.

DISCONTINUED – 2003 Wamsutta Baby NAVY BLUE BLANKET with SAILBOATS & ANCHORS & RED BINDING
Hello!
I am desperately searching for a Wamsutta Baby brand navy blue small child’s blanket. It has sailboats and anchors on it, and I think it is either a sailboat/yachtclub/nautica theme. It is fuzzy and extremely soft with a red border. I’m sure it is a discontinued item, purchased at Babies r Us 6 years ago. It measures roughly 42″ by 29″ and is usually a vibrant blue. I have sewn the edges of this so many times…not sure how much more it can take!
My son loves his dearly, and it is finally falling apart. I would love to replace it as a Christmas gift.
If you or someone else is able to find it, I will be thoroughly impressed!

Discount Program – Fisher Price HAPPY REWARDS
We were recently made aware of the Fisher Price Happy Rewards discount program that allows families to purchase their brand of diapers and earn points toward ANY Fisher Price product, including toys. It does involve keeping track of points from the packaging and the receipts until you build enough points to be worthwhile, but it might be worth looking into if you have babies or toddlers in your family.

DISCONTINUED – Eden WHITE RABBIT Wearing AQUA & WHITE STRIPES
I’m looking for an Eden plush rabbit/bunny with a rattle. It has blue-green and white stripes on the body and a pink and white polka dot bow.
When we pulled this bunny out of the toy box for the new baby, our 1.5-year-old daughter latched onto it. She hasn’t slept without it since, carries it around the house, and cries inconsolably at bedtime until we track down wherever she left her ”Blue Nunny”.
We got this bunny pre-loved, and it’s already starting to look a little worn. With two little ones, I’m getting little enough sleep as it is — I would feel so much safer if we had a backup!

I’m looking for a White plush Eden teddy bear. It is white with pink inside the ears. It has a pink velour sleeper with ABC on the upper left chest, as well as a striped ribbon around its neck.
For the 16 years that I’ve been alive, he has been my “Bear Bear” and my best friend that I slept with, cuddled with, and took absolutely everywhere. I wore him out so badly that you wouldn’t be able to recognize him any more, and I recently lost him when I went on a trip. I am heartbroken and looking for a new one.

FOUND – GOFFA Lying Down Neon YELLOW, GREEN, HOT PINK DOG
I’m looking for a GOFFA 10 inch long floppy lying down bright yellow chenille dog with neon green ears and tail. It has a large hot pink nose and back patch and yellow velour feet. I do know my wife bought this at a Dollar General Store in 2008 for one dollar, and we haven’t seen it again.
My wife and I have been looking for this exact dog, because my wife bought this for our 3 year old granddaughter for her first Easter. Our granddaughter has not been separated from this dog, which she calls FOUFOU, since she received it. It is her security buddy.
The poor puppy has been washed and stitched up a lot and is getting in bad shape. My wife has even added stuffing to the puppy twice. We would really love to have a couple of spares so that when one is being washed or fixed she has the other. She gets upset and cries when the puppy is in the wash, and also every time she notices a hole in him it has to be fixed right away.
We have bought different colors and sizes of puppies, and she only wants this exact puppy. We let her see your website with her puppy on it, and she wants us to buy her more.
If anyone is able to find a FOUFOU, my wife and I would be grateful.

I’m looking for a pale green and blue Stegosaurus dinosaur with blue spots and spikes, made by Koala Baby, which is sold by Toys R Us and Babies R Us. I bought one 4 years ago from a Babies R Us. I bought it for when my son was born to have for always as his first animal.
I have a ”Snuggles” bear that is turning 29 that I had when I was born. So its a huge deal he has his. Someone broke into our home and stole a lot of our stuff, including his toys, clothes, and his dinosaur he calls ”Tiny”. He is still crying and looking for him, and it’s been 4 months.
I hope someone can help. I have all my friends and family looking for one still, and it’s not going well.

History of Teddy Bears – GREAT FOR VALENTINE’S DAY Lesson Plan!
For those of you who home school or teach elementary school, I thought you might find this email from one of our readers of use to you.
I just wanted to say that, as an Elementary school teacher, I have been using your page with information on Teddy Bears for my classes. (I like to do the history of Teddy Bears for our Valentine’s Day lessons…it’s a fun little break for the kids
Since your page was helpful to my classroom, I thought I would pass along another resource one of my students found that you might want to include: “History of the Teddy Bear”.

DISCONTINUED – 2000 Animal Alley PINK UNICORN with FUR & Glitter STARS HORN & COLLAR
I am looking for an Animal Alley Pink Unicorn from about 2000. It has a WHITE FUR (NOT yarn) mane and tail and white fur above the bright pink hooves. It has a white horn and collar with silver stars on them, and it’s about 12 to 16 inches long.
My daughter has had this special Unicorn that my Sister gave us for our baby shower. She has carried it around from the time she could crawl. It was her first word. My Mom tried to teach her to say Gammie, but she said “Guy” and hugged her Woobie! It has traveled where ever she has traveled! She has slept with him every night for 8 years. He is almost worn to the point of no return. He is very loved! Animal Alley changed their “Darla unicorn” right after she was born to one with a yarn hair mane, and it is too different. It is not a “Woobie – Guy”.
My daughter will have her Woobie on her bed in her College dorm. This I know without a doubt!
Our Woobie’s fur mane has worn away, the stars have been rubbed off the horn, he is hardly pink, he has been patched, and he’s had new stuffing several times. She misses his silver stars and has cried about his mane. I burned it in the dryer years ago, before I knew better. Then over the years it rubbed off, too. He is threadbare and about to fall apart.
I had found one on E-bay finally after years of looking, and the seller mixed up, and sent us another yarn hair unicorn and our “Woobie-Guy” went to another house. The seller said she mailed the other stuffed animal weeks ago and the buyer did not complain, so she canceled our transaction. I am sure some little girl is already in love with it. I was crushed. It would mean the world to my daughter if we could find a real “Woobie”.

I’m looking for the Fisher Price pink rabbit and white bear Slumber Babies.
I am a survivor of extreme, horrific abuse. I was once part of a support group, and one of my friends had the pink Slumber Baby. I loved it, so I went out to buy them all. I was able to buy the yellow and white ones. I once gave the white one to someone is distress, and she was supposed to return it by mail. That never happened. I still have the yellow one.
I’ve experienced significant healing, though some of the deepest core pain remains. When I am hurting and afraid, I like to hold my Slumber Baby. In so doing, I feel I am offering comfort to myself in a very real way, i.e., holding my Inner Child, if you will.
I named her Gertrude. They were each Gertrude–Yellow Gertrude and White Gertrude. And any other dolls I am able to purchase, Slumber Babies, or other soft dollies, would also be named Gertrude!

DISCONTINUED – Eden PETER RABBIT TAN, CREAM Upright Ears PINK CARROT – JINGLE
I’m looking for an Eden Peter Rabbit about 12 inches seated, not counting his upright ears, light tan velour rabbit with cream velour ears and tummy. He’s holding a pastel pink carrot with a ball bell in its tummy and wearing an attached blue jacket. My son’s Peter Rabbit looked very much like the one in the photo.
I bought it in 2001 for my son when he was born. I would really like to find this rabbit, as my son lost his when he was almost 4 years old. He is now 9 years old. But he has never forgotten it, as it was his special friend, and he would be over the moon if ‘bunny’ could return home one day!
I would appreciate information on where I may be able to find him. Unfortunately, the children and I lost a great many of our things back then, and it would be such a blessing to be able to replace one of them.
