Searching – 90′s Small DAKIN / APPLAUSE? Yellowy Orange HIPPO
Catherine is still looking for this peachy colored hippo. This is an edited photo to give you an idea of what she wants.
I’m so glad someone has a service like this! I am desperately searching for a plush hippo I had when I was a kid. I’m pretty sure she was either a Dakin, Applause, or a Gund brand. I saw some photos online of the Dakin Lou Rankin animals, and the sad little eyes look so familiar I’m betting that the brand was Dakin.
She was sort of small, no longer than 8 or so inches and no taller than 4 or 5. She was kind of a creamish-yellowy-orange color with brown set-back eyes just like the Lou Rankin elephant. Her little legs were much shorter and fatter than the Lou Rankin grey hippo, though. She was purchased at a Noah’s Ark store probably around 1992 or 1993.
Most unfortunately, I don’t have a photo of her. I did write a children’s book for a project several years ago, and used her as the model for my illustrations, though. I’ll see if I can find the book so I can scan and send you my illustration… it was pretty realistic.

FOUND – 2002 GUND Head & Tales LAVENDER RABBIT with THIN PINK & PURPLE RIBBONS
I’m looking for a large very soft purple bunny with thin pink and purple ribbons around the neck and bean bag feet. The arms, head, and belly are cotton filled and he has a cotton ball looking tail. He is so tattered and worn it’s hard to tell what his original state was. We now know that it’s a GUND Head & Tales 16 inch rabbit.
My son got this bunny the day he was born (September, 2002). It has been his most prized possession ever since. This year, on his 9th birthday, Bunny went missing. We are afraid he got thrown away mixed in with wrapping paper. We are heartbroken. I have spent many hours looking all over the internet with no luck.
The closest I’ve found is Floppity the beanie buddy, but the ribbon isn’t right.
Any help would be wonderful!

FOUND – GUND No. 15025 TUMBLY Large DARK BROWN BEAR Top Priority
I’m looking for a 17 inch Gund Tumbly No. 15025, a wonderfully laid-back bear whose exceptionally soft tummy is outdone only by his soft and silky deep Espresso brown colored plush. He has closely set eyes and an black plush nose. Tumbly’s floppy posture is heartwarming. You would immediately want to hug Tumbly and offer him a home!
My friend’s daughter, who is adopted, lost her beloved Tumbly bear around the Landstuhl, Germany, train station. They lost it in July, 1011, and I have been searching everywhere on the internet trying to help find a replacement one for her.
This bear has special memories- she was adopted, and this bear was given to her by the people at the orphanage- the bear is also named after the orphanage. Of course she is devastated, and the thought of losing her only connection to a place she holds fond memories of is priceless.
If anyone finds one for sale please let me know. It will make a little girl so happy to have something from her past.

Searching – GUND 15" Honey Colored BEAR / Large RED, GREEN, BLACK, WHITE BOW

I’ll admit it, I’m a recent college graduate who still needs her teddy bear. I’ve never been without him. He was a great help when I moved to college to have that little bit of home with me, even if I didn’t sleep with him any more.
I lost him somewhere (I have NO idea where he could have gone!) over the summer and I am desperate to find him.
As crazy as it sounds, I had dreams for his future! For example, I planned to give him to my own child some day. I am very upset over his departure and after a false lead on e-bay, I am desperate to find him.
My bear is a Gund bear that I purchased with my own money (my first time ever spending money on something) at Hudson’s around 1993.
He is a champagne color 15″ GUND teddy bear, wearing a red, green, black and white plaid ribbon around his neck and tied in a big bow under his chin. His fur is long and curly. His four paw pads are velvety soft and his stitched nose is the color of his fur. His eyes are shiny black.”

Searching – 80′s GUND BROWN BEAR with K-3 on the TAG
Randy is looking for a similar bear.
I’m looking for a 1981 GUND brown bear that says K-3 on the tag. He’s about 15 inches tall. He has a black nose and eyes with pads on feet of look alike leather. The manufacturer’s name is Bearfeat.
My girlfriend was given the bear when she was born, and it has since been destroyed. We have been looking all over for this bear with no luck. I would love to find her a new bear.
I have checked eBay many times with no luck. Please help!

BEAR FOUND – STILL Searching for RABBIT – GUND ALL BLACK BEAR named VELVET plus PINK & WHITE RABBIT named JELLYBEAN
I’m looking for a friend for a 1992 GUND all black bear named Velvet and a 1991 GUND pink and white lop eared rabbit named Jellybean (not sure if that’s Jelly Bean or one word). The black bear does NOT have a red open mouth. These are for two young people who lost their childhood stuffed Gund toys in the wild fire that destroyed their home. The winds were 100 km an hour, so there was no time to pack anything, but only time to evacuate as quickly as possible.
The black bear was her son’s treasured teddy, and the pink bunny belonged to her daughter. They slept with them from the time they were babies. I believe they were the first stuffed animals given to them. Although they are grown now, they still had them in their room for comfort until the fire destroyed their home in Slave Lake Alberta on May 15th. They lost everything but a few clothes and a few pictures.
Jellybean the pink rabbit is about 12 to 14 inches long. It has large lop ears lined in white and has big white feet.

Searching – 80′s Gund MULTI-COLOR PASTEL CLOWN DOLL
We now have a mailing list looking for this clown.
I am searching for a GUND Terry Cloth (Polyester Fiber) Baby Doll made in the early 1980′s that looks like a clown. It is less than 10 inches tall and is just plain fabric with no buttons or accessories. The colors of it are pastels that include white, yellow, blue, and pink.
My daughter had this “Clownie” from when she was a newborn until 5 years of age. Then she lost her beloved Clownie when we were on vacation. She was devastated! She has been looking for him ever since.
Her 21st birthday is coming up, and I would love to give her a new Clownie.

Searching 18 Years – Burned Yellow Musical Pony Top Priority
Ruth Ann is still looking for this pony. She salvaged from a fire one rather fuzzy picture where he is off to the side amongst other stuff animals.
I enhanced the pony with photo editing software, so this is only an attempt to show what he looked like.

I am desperately searching for a childhood stuffed toy. It is a wind-up musical baby toy, and I *think* it is from Gund, but that is only a vague memory.
He was a yellow pony with a white under-belly and pinkish feet/snout. He had black eyes (not of cloth material) and his nostrils were just yarn stitched on. He had a yarn like tail and yarn mane as well. The small silver wind up mechanism was on his side, and it played “It’s a Small Small World”.
I was born in 1983 and always remember having the toy. I would assume then it is from the late 70′s or early 80′s, but it may be earlier (handed down from a relative). It was destroyed in a fire in 1997, and I’ve been looking since the day of the fire. In 2007, that will be 10 years of desperate searching and late nights on the internet.
Ruth Ann says that this giraffe is pretty close, but hers didn’t have the saddle like that and had a white underbelly. It also didn’t have blue eyes; however, that one plays It’s a Small World, so she wonders if they made it differently depending on the year.
Can you help me please? It is more important than words can express that I find this.

FOUND – 1977 GUND WHITE LAMB Peach Face
This lamb is about 17 inches long, with white body and peach face, feet and ears. I purchased one for my oldest daughter in 1977, and she loved it. Problem was, her 4-year-old-brother would take it every day while she was at school. Eventually it became “his” lamb.
Then daughter #2 was born and she adopted “Lambie” as soon as she could walk. The lamb is now in tatters, and my goal is to find one of these Gund lambs for each of them, (now all adults) as they still talk about their attachments to her. Must be in excellent condition so they each feel they have a new “Lambie.”If anyone can help me out, I would appreciate YOU. Plus, I’m ready to give a reward to anyone who can help me find one or more.

FOUND – 50′s GUND SLUMBER ZIPPER CAT with KITTENS
Carrie is still looking for a similar cat and kittens.
I’m looking for a 50′s Gund Slumber Zipper Cat, which came with a zipper along its back. The Mama cat is sleeping, and her zippered back came with three 3 inch long kittens inside her “pouch”. She’s approximately 15 inches long.
While on a cross-country road trip during the early 60′s, my family stayed at one of many motels. After checking out one morning and driving many miles by the afternoon, my sister–about 6 at the time–realized she could not find her favorite toy, this Gund Slumber Zipper Cat with a pouch containing 3 kittens. She had evidently left it behind at the motel.
My parents called and inquired about it, but the managers said they could not find it. My sister was absolutely inconsolable–she loved that cat, and now it was gone.
As an adult, I have tried without success to find another Gund Slumber Zipper Cat to give to my sister. I know it would still mean a lot to her even after all these years. I found a listing on eBay recently, but I was too late to bid.
If anyone has information about this toy, or has one to sell, I hope they will contact me about it.

FOUND – GUND DOTTIE DOTS Blue DOG BLANKIE Top Priority
Mary has found her blankie, but we still have a mailing list of people looking for this blankie.
This is my son’s favorite lovie. He has had it since before he was born. He was in the NICU for a month when he was born and Blue Baby stayed with him and covered him in the hospital. My son has Down’s Syndrome and sensitivity issues. Blue is the one thing that calms him down when he is out of control or needs soothing, and he is 6 now.
We thought Blue Baby was put up safe, but he was attacked by a real dog and his face, ears, paws, and blankie were ripped and shredded. We told our son that Blue is at the doctor getting fixed to buy some time, but we didn’t find all the pieces to piece Blue back together. This happened on Sunday, February 27, and he is having trouble sleeping, because Blue Baby is so sick. So now I don’t know what to do.
Blue has been a miracle worker with our son, and we need new one quick.
