Searching – Vintage KOREA United Feature Syndicate SNOOPY Without PATCH on TUSH Top Priority

Vintage Korean Applause? Snoopy Without the Tush PatchWe’re looking for a late 70′s or early 80′s, and possibly even older, firmly stuffed Snoopy. The tag says ©1968 UNITED FEATURE SYNDICATE, INC. PRODUCT OF KOREA REG. NOS. PA219-CA16113 ALL NEW MATERIALS CONTENT:KAPOK SHREDDED CLIPPINGS. It does NOT have the Snoopy patch on the tush. He is between 12 and 13 inches, although he is probably deflated and elongated from wear and his fur is certainly nappy from love.

We’re trying to find a backup for a friend of ours for her little boy. He has a brain tumor and is a precious child. The Snoopy was his Mama’s, but he has taken it over. She says that it is his Snoopy, and not Mama and Daddy, who comforts him when he feels bad or gets a booboo.Vintage Korean Applause? Snoopy Without the Tush Patch

With all the doctor and hospital trips this little fellow has to make, it would give his Mama and Daddy a little piece of mind to know they had a backup already in hand.

We found item 250874418408 on eBay that she says is very close, and she’s considering getting it, even though it is not the correct one.

Thanks,

Rosemary

Searching – 50′s Large LAMBSKIN Standing LAMB Glass Eyes Not Steiff

Margot is still looking for this lamb.

When I was a small child in the mid-late 50′s I received a stuffed lamb. The sheep I lost was stuffed with straw and was VERY realistic. The head for example had almost a taxidermy level of realism. The coat was actually real lamb’s skin with a longish, curly, silky look/feel ; just like an woman’s winter coat. The lamb measured approximately 2′ x 3′ and made a “baa” sound when turned upside down. It was made about 50 years ago. The coat on the lamb on eBay is not or does not look like the real thing. I think it might have come from Germany.

I know it is not a Steiff, because I collect Steiff. I don’t have any pictures. It was not plushy…it was stiff stuffing, but it was not like a Steiff either…it was all real lambskin..no wool. It was not the size of an old Steiff. It was bigger than the small ones and not as big as the newer big ones. As I recall it was about 24″ x 24″ standing…it was not jointed per se, with beautiful green glass eyes. It was a wonderful thing.

Years later my niece’s dog chewed it up. I have been looking ever since for another one. I have tried eBay and Google. Perhaps someone here knows of one.

Thanks,
Margot

Searching – Vintage Montgomery Ward’s YELLOW BENDABLE MONKEY

Vintage Montgomery Ward's Yellow Bendable MonkeyI am searching for a yellow fur vintage monkey with a white chin and a hard felt face with airbrushed marks. It feels fuzzy (flocked)! His eyes are black plastic. He has felt ears. He is stuffed and has a wire skeleton. When his tail is moved, his head moves back and forth. He measures approximately 9.5 inches from his bottom to the top of his head. His arms are 11 inches long. His legs are 5.5 inches long. His hands and feet are felt with airbrushed markings. Feet are about 4 inches long and hands are just under 4 inches long, ( I even bought an original ad from the Ward’s Catalog!)

He has a cloth tag in his side:
All New Materials

Searching – 70′s Eden YELLOW ELEPHANT Windup YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE HEAD MOVES

We have a mailing list of people looking for the yellow and also for the blue version of this elephant.

70's Eden Yellow You Are My Sunshine Elephant with a Head that MovesI had a musical plush Eden elephant, pale yellow circa 1970. Its head rotated, and it was a wind up music box inside. I now have a baby and so wish I could find one the same. I live in Australia now, but am happy to pay the shipping cost. It stood about five inches tall, not very big.

Thanks for your help and God Bless!

FOUND – 1978 Sears WINNIE the POOH BEAR Top Priority

We have a mailing list of people looking for this vintage Pooh.

1977-78 Winnie the Pooh BearI’m looking for a Winnie the Pooh that was purchased at Sears in 1977-78. It used to have a red vest, and it measures approximately 12 inches from the top of its head to the bottom of its feet. It is about 4 1/2 inches wide at its tummy and maybe 3 1/2 inches deep.

I’m looking for it to give to a friend who is really down and trying to turn her life around. She was attached to one just like it as a child. I just feel that it will give her a little strength and hope at this point in her life, and let her know that people really do care about her.

Thank you for any help you can give:),

Searching – Vintage SMALL WHITE DOG with ORANGE, YELLOW, BLUE SPOTS

60'? 70'? 80'? Small White Dog with Orange, Yellow & Blue SpotsI am looking for a stuffed toy dog from my childhood. It is white with orange, yellow and blue spots. It has floppy ears that can cover its eyes, and a “peanut-shaped” head. It lays on its stomach, with its legs sticking out, two on each side. It would be from the early 1980′s, or 1970′s or possibly earlier. It is no more than 6″ long. It used to have a brownish nose (fell off) and white plastic/metal anchors at the bottom of its floppy ears (also fell out). I think it had white “fur” beneath its chin, and under its stomach. It was a mix of fleecy like material (spots were on this) (?) and fabric (on belly and under chin) (?). It’s hard to describe. I’m not sure if it had eyes at one point in its life, but it did not when I inherited it.

This toy was given to my mother 28 years ago by an acquaintance, who said it once belonged to his son. I have no idea how old the toy was when I received it, but it’s at least 28 years old. It has been my most treasured possession, and I have always been curious of its origins. I guess I’m just looking for any information related to it.

Thank you so much for all of your assistance.

Merry Christmas!

FOUND – Vintage EDEN Musical GIRAFFE Plays YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE & HEAD TURNS

Hello, Rosemary. I am writing with a success story! I received the giraffe in the mail from Anne today, and it is just how I remember it. I hope that it is the way my friend remembers it too! =) I can’t wait until she sees it. Thank you for your help!

Crystal

1950's Eden musical giraffe neck turnsMy friend is pregnant with her first child. She has been talking about her first toy as a child, an Eden giraffe.

The giraffe was the first toy that she received as a baby. Her father bought it for her. It was yellow and white. It did not have any fringe along it’s neck – just the two bumps on the head and eyes and ears. It was tall and slim – not one of the short plump versions of a toy giraffe you sometimes see. When it was wound up the toy played “You are my Sunshine” and the neck and head moved in a circular motion.

The giraffe was her lovey throughout her childhood as her father battled cancer. He lost his fight when she was in the 6th grade and the lovey became even more important to her. Time went by and her mother felt she needed the support of her family. This meant selling their home and moving across the county. It also meant that many mementos of her father and her childhood were sold and given away to make the move easier.

Her mother made sure that Dawna’s beloved giraffe and her baby book were packed safely away, so that she would have them when she grew up and was ready to start a family of her own. And she did have them….

3 years ago she evacuated during Hurricane Katrina. She escaped to Texas to sit out the storm. She didn’t think to take her “lovey” and her baby book with her. Who would? They were lost, but her fiance and her mother were both fine. That was the important thing. Besides… she wasn’t ready for a family yet.

In December of 2007 her mother passed away. In February of 2008 Dawna found out that she was expecting her first child. Her little girl is due and will be named after Dawna’s mother. Last night Dawna was feeling very nostalgic for the days when she had both her mother and father – and her little giraffe. She said, ” I just wish I could give it to Emma-Leigh as her first toy.”

I don’t know if the giraffe can be found. But, I would love to surprise her with it.

Searching – INFORMATION about LARGE Vintage GUND Rabbit Doll

GUND vintage red polka dot rabbit wearing an apronI have found a Gund Rabbit. She is obviously vintage, but I haven’t been able to find out anything about her.

I’d like to know what her name is and how old she is, and anything else someone can tell me about her.

She is right at 25″ tall. Her face is rubber. Her body is stuffed and covered with a red and white polka dot pattern. She also wears a white apron. She has a thatch of orange hair only on top,and the rest is white fur.

Thank you for any help you may be able to give me.

FOUND! – MY Favorite Childhood Dolls FOUND, Well Almost…

Here’s the original post I made about my favorite pair of ugly baby dolls, My Favorite Childhood Dolls.

Well, in trying to help someone locate information about their own childhood doll, I ran across some pictures of just what I’ve been looking for on the Antique Dolls Collectors Online Advisors, a research site I can definitely recommend to anyone trying to locate a vintage or collectible doll.

Horsman Squalling Baby Doll 1949
I remember them as being so ugly they were cute, and boy, was I right!!

Vintage Squalling Baby Dolls
I’ve since searched the Internet and can’t find any for sale anywhere, but I’ll certainly be on the lookout, now that I know that Horsman made them in 1949, and most importantly, their NAME, Squalling Babies!!

Does anyone remember these dolls? Horsman made a reproduction of them in 1980, so some of you “young whippersnappers” may remember those. If anyone runs across the original doll for sale, I sure would appreciate a heads up!

I have recently decided that my dolls were NOT made by Horsman, but by Lastic Plastic Fleischaker Co. in 1948.
