One of our Fabulous Finders says this is a Pot Belly Bear.
Please help me find a replica of childhood bear! This bear was given to my when I was 2 months old. (1978) My aunt from Wyoming brought it to me in Ohio as a gift. I remember it having a white, satin, folded over and stitched tag in the bear’s behind, but even as a kid, I could remember not being able to read the text, because it had faded too much.
I remember a string that created its mouth…attached only on three points. The whiskers were made up of the same string, and the eyes were plastic and brown in color. The nose was hard and almost black with insets for the nostrils. It was all brown in color, except the tan on his snout, inside the ears, and the bottom of the feet.
That’s about all I can tell you that I can remember. The bear got a lot of use, and was pretty fairly worn in before I even turned into a teen. IF you could help me find another, I would be soo happy!
