How Do You Feel about Noisy Toys? — 4 Comments

  1. I’m ok with noisy toys as long as they don’t break the ear drums. Kids do seem to love them so if they’re too loud, I often tape a piece of paper/cardboard over the speaker area to muffle the sounds.

In general, though, my son seems to gravitate toward toys that make no noise. He prefers to create his own sound effects. 🙂

  2. Hah! It never occured to us to try to dampen the sound on the car! DUH

But I did take the buzzer out of the original Operation game, because it made one of our daughters cry every time is went off. She loved the game (I left the buzzer light), but the sound was making her a nervous wreck!!

Lei, it’s gratifying to hear that your son uses his imagination when he plays. Good for him!!

  3. well, in my house noisy toys remarkably have their batteries die very quickly. There are some that are not to bad, but most start to grate on my nerves after 30 minutes or so.

  4. Dawn, as one who enjoys peace and quiet, sounds like a plan to me.

Regretfully, the offending Big Bird jallopy had one of those sealed batteries in it, and it lasted for years, as we didn’t get to see our grandchildren too often.
