Here’s the wonderful reunion story!
Yesterday, my daughter and I decided to stop by the store where we lost Kitty to check again. It had been two weeks since she lost her so I didn’t have much hope but I decided to ask anyway. The customer service people hadn’t seen Kitty, so I told them I was going to rummage through the stuffed animals, just in case. As soon as I started digging I noticed this worn kitty-cat tail sticking up out of a pile of toys. Sure enough, it was Zoe’s Kitty. I said, “Look, Zoe, it’s Kitty!” She ran to where I pointed grabbed her kitty, hugged her tight, saying, “My Ke-Ke” over and over again. I couldn’t help but tear up over the reunion.
Not only was I happy for her but I knew we’d get a nap at home again without a fuss. As soon as we got home, Zoe willingly laid down for a nice long nap. Amazing what a worn out little yellow and white kitty can do for a rowdy two year old.
Also amazing, is how one of my favorite love story reunions in not between a man and a woman but between a little girl and a worn out kitty-cat.
Thanks for all of your help. I’ll continue to check the website to see if I can spot someone else’s lost lovie!
Over the last two years my daughter lost two of her 3 Kitties (I had two back-ups). One, we think, was thrown out with the Christmas trash, and the other was lost somewhere in our local Marshall’s store this week. We are now down to one and I am scared of what’s going to happen if this one goes missing.
Apparently they are retired now. The only one I’ve found is on Ebay for over $50. I only paid $8 and can’t afford or justify $50 for a back-up lovey. It is a yellowish tan and white GANZ Heritage Collection Tubby Tummy Kitty/Cat.
My son picked out this lovey for my daughter before she was born as his gift to his little sister, and she immediately took to it. Even as an infant she liked to have one in each hand. Please contact me if you know where I can find a backup.
