This is NOT the bear Laura needs, but the general look of the turquoise blue one she wants is the same.

I am looking for a turquoise blue bear from the Abbey Press catalog. It is called the “Heavenly Hugs” bear with an embroidered, white teardrop under one of his eyes and, I think, he has on a ribbon around his neck. I contacted Abbey Press and they have no record of the bear, considering it would’ve been available back in the mid 1990’s.

The bear is about 10 and 1/2 inches tall (standing). It is floppy, although it has beans in its tush so it can sit by itself, and it also has beans in both feet. The tear is the most distinguishing feature…if the bear comes how it was in the magazine I think it had a ribbon around its neck, possibly a metal necklace with a heart, and some kind of prayer card…but I don’t know that I can find one with all of that (which is fine). I think the fur is also slightly curly…although my bear is obviously very loved and worn out in the pictures.

I am looking for this bear, because it looks identical to the bear my parents bought from Abbey Press when I was about 6. I had trouble sleeping, but when they got me this purple bear, called a “Worry Bear”, she became my comfort, and she hasn’t left my bed since then (unless we travel).

I’ve always wanted the blue “Heavenly Hugs” bear to have alongside her, but I just can’t seem to find him.
