Searching – INFORMATION about CURIOUS GEORGE??? MONKEY
I recently bought a monkey that looked really cute. It is light brown, with a creamy colored like middle of his face, with blue overalls, and a blue hat ( looks like a train conductor hat of some sort). Under the overalls he has a shirt that has dark blue and red stripes on it…
I brought him in an op shop a few weeks ago, and just adored him… And was really curious of how old he is, and the brand or where he was made… I’m not interested in buying another, but it would be nice to find out what he actually is…I was wondering if mine is a Curious George, and would like any information someone could give me about this monkey.

He’s cute but doesn’t look like Curious George to me. Maybe a lookalike. What does the tag say? Is it filled with foam/ cotton batting? If I have to guess, he is a carnival prize from the 60s-70s. Japanese companies used to make these animals then. If you tell me what it says on the tag, I can be more accurate.

The tag has worn away, so it’s nothing but white, theirs no writing on it at all….
And it’s stuffed will material like cotton wool.
It was part of a deceased estate that was donated to a charity i work for..
amongst all the stuff given, were dating back to the 50’s and 60’s and way back before that.

I still think that he’s an upper-end 60s carnival prize. Cheap ones stuffed with foam, more expensive ones are stuffed with kapok (cotton batting). There are few American companies that used to sell carnival prize such as Superior Toy Novelty and St. Louis Carnival Supply, but most of them are made overseas… with no name. One 50s carnival prize I have simply says Japan on tush tag, but interestingly still has its paper swing tag and sticker, indicating that it’s made by St. Louis Carnival Supply. Here’s an example from eBay# 390031409667. Hope this helps.
Ohh ok thank you, I love him to bits, hes realllllly cute 😛
thanks for the help 🙂

hi brittany,
i know this email may come out of the blue, but i was enquiring to if you still have this monkey.
when i was a kid my grandma gave me a monkey just like that one and i took it everwhere and slept with it every night. i recently found out that somewhere along the way it has gotten lost and ive tried my hardest to find another one as it was very special to me and my grandmother has since passed away.
i understand if this monkey is special to you also but if you have ever considered parting with it i would offer a very reasonable price for it.
please email me
