My husband has a teddy from when he was little. His parents bought my little one “Sad Bear” the day after she was born, since it looks like my husband’s bear.
She has slept with it every day ever since then. She will not sleep without Sad Bear, and, if it gets lost in her blankets in the middle of the night, she will cry until I find it. When I check on her at night before I go to bed, she always has Sad Bear snuggled up to her face looking at her.
Shortly after my little one started talking she called him “Sad Bear.” At first I couldn’t figure out why, but when you look at its mouth it does kinda look like it is sad. I have tried to convince her that Sad Bear is happy, but she insists he is sad.
She has had Sad Bear for 3 years now, and he is starting to get very worn out. I have had to make a rule that Sad Bear only stays in the house and can not go out with us, because I greatly fear the day he gets lost. When we come home from errands, or the day out, she runs through the door calling for Sad Bear. She will then hug him tight and says, “I missed you Sad Bear.”
I have looked for Sad Bear for about 2 years now. I check eBay every 3 days, but still have not found him. In my quest to find Sad Bear, I have found about 20 other people’s lost toys from other website’s and eBay’s Want It Now lists, but I can’t find Sad Bear.
It was sold in Walmart, so I am sure there are a few around. This medium brown bear (he’s lighter than the picture makes him look) was made by Kellytoy and is about 10 inches long, with a brown ribbon around his neck. The eyes are hard black plastic.
I really need a backup for Sad Bear, because he is about to fall apart!
Thanks so much,
