What personal data we collected and why we collected it

Comments

When visitors left comments on the site we collected the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may have been provided to the Gravatar service to see if you were using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture would have been visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you uploaded images to us, there may be embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included in those images. Visitors to the website may still be able to download and extract any location data from images.

Cookies

Because this site is built on the WordPress platform, there are several required temporary cookies used in the functioning of the pages. These cookies contain no identifying information about you. These cookies expire when your browser session ends.

If you left a comment on this site when it was actively being used, you opted-in to saving your name, email address and possibly your website in cookies. These were for your convenience so that you did not have to fill in your details again when you left another comment. Since the site is no longer live, those cookies may or may not still be in use.

When you were able to log in when the site was live, we set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. If you logged out of your account, the login cookies have been removed. But it is possible the cookies are still on your computer.

If you edited or published an article, an additional cookie was saved in your browser. This cookie included no personal data and simply indicated the post ID of the article you edited.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How we protect your data

All our websites sites are secured with Comodo certificates and SSL, as well as SiteLock. You will see https in the urls of all page addresses on all our sites. This is for your protection and ours. It minimizes the possibility of our being hacked or any of your information being compromised. On our sites where you may purchase products the payment process is handled exclusively on PayPal. NO credit/debit card numbers of any kind are ever saved on our servers.

This site is part of a network of sites that protect against distributed brute force attacks. To enable this protection, the IP address of visitors attempting to log into the site is shared with a service provided by ithemes.com. For privacy policy details, please see the iThemes Privacy Policy.

How long we retain your data

If you left a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This was so we could recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who registered on our website, we also stored the personal information they provided in their user profile. Now that the site is no longer active, users CANNOT see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time.

What rights you have over your data

If you had an account on this Plush Memories site, or left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you provided to us.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.

Please Contact Us and provide the email address you used to interact with this site. We will be glad to send you a report of any and all personal data we have retained. You may then request that we delete it all, if that is your preference.
