Yes, indeed, after an EIGHT MONTH SEARCH an identical blanket has been found! Thank you so, so, so very much to everyone who read the post and stopped to search their drawers and especially to Caroline who parted with a brand new star blanket she was saving for a baby gift. Your generosity has spared us many tears and relieved us of so much stress! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I have been searching for a duplicate lovey for seven months with ZERO luck. Here is what I am looking for:A one-layer fleece baby blanket roughly 27×37 inches with blue stars in 3 different sizes (from 0.5 to 1 inch diameter) on an all white/light ivory background. The edges are tucked under and “smooth stitched”, NOT the regular yarn whip stitch you see on a lot of fleece blankets.
The blanket has one tag that reads “DuPont 100% Dacron fleece” with no other info. I have found a blue blanket with white stars that looks exactly like my son’s (colors reversed of course) sold under the Lullaby Club name. I’ve also seen blankets with similar designs and correct edge stitching sold Under the Carter’s & Circo name.
The blanket was a baby shower gift and was lining a gift bucket I received from a gal who frequented Ross & Marshall’s. I am almost certain it probably came from a multi-pack of blankets, since it doesn’t have a specific or name-brand tag.
Sadly, my son has worn two holes in his blanket, but he’s so attached to it he’ll actually think about it while we’re out (blanket is too special to come with us) and then cry inconsolably until blankie is back in his arms.
This design pattern is being used on a PLUSH fleece blanket that was recently sold at Target. Our blanket is the thin, regular fleece that pills when washed, NOT the super-soft, thick plushy “fleece” all the blankets are made from now.
**The blanket is nearly GRAY now so I’ll take one in ANY used condition! Washed & stained will look just like the original!!!
I also know that my son isn’t picky about the star pattern, so long as they are blue on white/ivory fleece. It’s the white specked with blue color & wash-worn feel that he recognizes. He frequently confuses his cousin’s white & blue fleece pooh blanket for being his own. 😉
A million thank yous for your help! I’m really starting to freak out about the holes in the original and how I can’t find this blanket ANYWHERE.
I totally empathize with other parents and very much hope I can return the favor! I actually have several rare “promotional” stuffed animals and some Gymboree blankets from 2003-2007 lines that I’m sure someone is looking for!
Thank you so very much for your generosity!
Hugs!
