I am trying to find a replacement lovey for my 21 month old daughter. Our Pinky was purchased in Sobey’s grocery store in their flower department in July, 2008, in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. We contacted them, but without a upc code they were unable to help us, because those items were not carried any longer. Pinky is about 7 inches tall, sits upright with her arms and legs outstretched. Her trunk turns up. She has black eyes and a short tail, and it had fuzzy skin, kind of like fake sheep skin (if you know what I mean) when it was new. It has a plastic sounding rattle inside its belly.
She and her friend Pinky have literally been inseparable since birth. She got this as a present from her aunt the day she was born, and no matter how many “friends” she has, nothing can even come close to Pinky.
Since Pinky is so well loved, she is starting to fall apart, and I’m even scared to wash her now, but I have to at times. One day our care provider lost Pinky, and it was the worst night! Our poor baby woke up every 20 minutes crying and calling for Pinky. It was awful. By a stroke of luck some kind stranger found Pinky somewhere and put her up on a garden fence, and we found her the next day.
Ever since, I’ve been searching for a replacement, but have had no luck. I found a Carter’s pink elephant online with a jingly rattle in her belly. My daughter is not interested in her one bit. It’s not the REAL Pinky. I have never found a real duplicate through countless hours in malls, garage sales and online.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will also help anyone else in any way possible. If I ever see a toy someone needs that I have, I will gladly donate her to a loving child.
Many thanks,
Kelly
