This is NOT the Hippo she is looking for, but my attempt to come close to what it looked like.
I am looking for a stuffed toy Hippo from the 1980’s. It was about 8-10 inches high, had on a shirt (might have been an orange shirt,) that said HERO on the front. I believe it was a tan color (Now that I look at your picture I’m thinking it was a lighter color more beige.), short legs, the shirt was orange and had written HERO or HIPPO HERO on it. A size for a younger child or toddler to easily hold and carry.
This is a stuffed animal my 28 year old son vividly remembers fondly, and now he has a 3 month old son, and I thought it would be fun to find one for him. Your picture is very close ~ the shirt was I believe short sleeve or sleeveless, and he was thinner – not so plump and stiff.
