Searching – BROWN Chenille MONKEY with TAN FACE & EARS Top Priority

Brown Chenille Monkey with Tan Face & EarsI am searching for a brown chenille monkey with a tan velour face and ears. His ears are all tan, front and back. Unfortunately, all information on the tag wore off some time ago. :-(

It is NOT the Koala Baby No. 1415352 monkey, although Amy says that’s as close as she has found to the right monkey.

Momo is my son’s lovey and has enormous sentimental value. My son was born with a severe congenital heart defect and, at 20 months old, has already been through 3 open heart surgeries, 2 cardiac catheterizations, and spent over 5 months of his life in the hospital. His monkey was there through it all.

But we took the monkey out with us running errands in the rain this past weekend and he somehow disappeared. We retraced our steps with no luck. But then someone turned him in to the grocery store where we were shopping on Sunday! (We’re guessing he dropped him in the parking lot).

This scare has convinced us that we need a backup!!

Here is a post with lots of photos of Momo.

Thanks,

Amy

In searching for the monkey my son lost, I found a website with 3000+ monkeys for sale. I will go back through that website and identify the links for monkeys that look like this one. Stay tuned.

I have to agree with Amy- I just looked at all of the main brands and the Koala Baby bear is pretty much a dead ringer for the monkey in the picture. I found a link that is selling the Koala Baby bear for $99 OBO:

Good luck :) I wasn’t so fortunate to get a back-up and after 3 years my son left his “Mango” (stuffed monkey) in the airport after a vacation. I am still looking!

I think it may well be a Gund monkey; this Flapjack monkey looks almost identical:

    Hi Amy,
Thank God someone turned it in! To ensure nothing happens like this again, visit http://www.lostmylovey.com. They make lovey tags that the bear, monkey, etc wears around it’s neck when out and about. Here is the website:

Best piece of mind I ever bought after a month long journey to find another Mango.

That listing is sold, but maybe if you lose it again you will have the brand name to search by. Hope this helps! -Tonya

Tanya – that’s the EXACT one!!! That’s Momo! Thank you for helping me identify him – now my job is to find someone who actually has him, but having the brand is sure a great place to start! :-) Thank you SO MUCH!

It does appear to be very similar, but does not have the “widow’s peak” hairline and narrower forehead.
