We have been told by a commenter that Colleen is looking for a 60’s Mattel Pink Pussycat Patter Pillow. Thanks to Donna, we now have a picture!


, Searching – 60’s Mattel PINK PUSSYCAT PATTER PILLOW – STRING TALKING PILLOW CATHi, I have a brain injury and can’t quite figure out how to use this site.

I am wondering if this is a place I can find the name and maker of a talking string toy from the 70’s. As best I can recall, I think it was like a cotton fabric, and it was a sort of a pillow with a drawing of a cat more than it was the shape of a cat.

I think it was a cat of sorts, similar to the talking pull-string Flip Wilson doll.

  1. is it a Mattel Patter Pillow? type patter pillow into the search box on ebay and a bunch come up, not a cat but you would be able to tell if it is from that line. — Laurie

  2. I called Mattel (cause that's who my memory was telling me made it) but they told me they don't have records to search it without the specific toy name.

    I will try your suggestion, maybe if I can give them the name of the line, they can do a better search.

    I didn't find if a photo came in, but thanks for the name of the toy, that sounds exactly correct to what I remember

    now I can give my friend Ladybug, the exact name of the toy.

    Now that you've said the name, another of it's sayings comes to mind. "I'm just tickled pink over catnip" Is that right?

    Would you have any resource to record the doll saying, "Lady bug, lady bug, don't fly away home"?

    Anychance you could email the photo and sound, so I could pass them on to my friend.

    She's very sweet person and anything I can to do cheer her up is worth doing.
