I have been looking for a teddy for ages. It was made in the 80’s, and it’s brown with a cream muzzle and round ears. It did not have movable limbs. It’s rather like a GUND Tender Bear, but not quite. Bear Bear had very round eyes, and I never thought it looked particularly bear like. I think there may have been slightly curly fur, and I think he also had a tail? I cannot remember the make and unbelievably do not have it even in the background of pictures.

Bear Bear belonged to my daughter. When she was around 7 we stayed at a Holiday Inn in Williamsburg, VA, and she left it there. About an hour out, we remembered Bear Bear, and I called the hotel. They said they had the bear and would mail it to us. It never arrived. The hotel always insisted they mailed it. However, it was not mailed with a receipt (although I had requested it be trackable). We contacted our local post office a few times and had them search undeliverable mail, and they even suggested we contact a lost ‘toy’ section which we did.

Bear Bear’s whereabouts has always been a mystery, and when an English friend here in the UK mentioned your site the other day, my daughter and I instantly thought of Bear Bear.

It’s been about 17 or 18 years since he has been lost… My major concern is that it may be German made, as she was born there, and I don’t remember when we were given it. There is a possibility it was bought at a military PX either in Heidelberg or in the States, so it would have been a brand carried by AAFES in the mid 80s.

Anyone have any idea?
