Searching – 80’s JCPenny’s LE HARE Pastel YELLOW & WHITE RABBIT with BIG NOSE, FEET
I’m looking for a 1984 23 inch long JCPenny’s pastel yellow and white rabbit with big feet, and a big brown nose. There is a tag next to his tail that reads “Le Hare”, but the other side of the tag that showed the company and such has long ago worn off.In 1984 my Nanny (grandmother) worked at JCPenny’s. During Easter, she bought this stuffed Bunny for my grandfather for an Easter present.
I was born in 1985, and they decided to put him in my crib. From then on it seemed like we were inseparable. We moved from New Jersey to Florida when I was about 5. Each summer I would bring him up with me on the plane, and my Nanny and I would wash him, stuff him and sew him and hang him on the line to dry. In between the summers we would send him back and forth in the mail.. It was a really great memory of mine to just have that special time with her and the bunny. I performed my first sewing job on his ears when they fell off.
I really hope to find another one, maybe in better condition. I have searched all over the internet and used your tips on how to find vintage stuffed animals, but I have had no luck. I really hope that you can help me locate one of his twins.
Thank you again for your time. I think this is the most amazing website, and I am eager to see what you find!! :o)
Sincerely,
Jessica

I own one, he’s been with me since I was born, he’s in pretty good shape. It’s funny how that’s the only stuffy I wouldn’t left mom get rid of.
In the early nineties I gave this Le Hare to my oldest grand child who is now 33. He (Jack) also became attached and loved the rabbit almost into oblivion. Later I snuck the critter away and had him put in a box frame under glass. I once again presented Le Hare to Jack for posterity. And yes his son has the framed rabbit hanging on his bedroom wall. I surly would like to have a new one. Any ideas?
