When I was a little girl I had a light pink knit material Cat. I got him when I was born or soon after in 1985. It wasn’t fuzzy. It had dark eyes and a yarn sewn mouth and nose. It was in the seated position with yarn on its paws to make the toes look more realistic. Its back legs where realistic, and it had haunches. The whole cat sat somewhere between 8 inches to 12 inches tall.

The cat was lost and found 100 times in my childhood. But when I was in 8th grade I went on a class trip to Washington, DC, and the girls I was rooming with got mad at me, like girls do, and threw him away and then tried to blame the maid. I checked at the front desk, gave them my number, but they did this the night we were leaving, so I had to travel home with out him.

This cat is very, very similar to mine. It is standing the right way and is the right color. It is too fat, though. My cat was a bit taller, which made him more slim and the fabric on mine was tweedish short, more course.

I slept with him every night for almost 12 years. I’ve searched for a replacement, but don’t know what brand it is and my grandfather can’t remember. I am still looking for a usable picture as all the one I have are too long distance. We lost many childhood photos in a flood, so I don’t have a useful photo of it.
