FOUND – Target YELLOW Spotted LION ORANGE MANE Velcro Paws
CELEBRATION TIME!!
The lion has landed! He arrived today in the mail, and my son is over the moon with happiness! I wasn’t sure if he would be OK with Sunny suddenly being fully stuffed, bright yellow and clean with no holes, etc. but he is!
We got home from school/work and there was a package in the mail. I knew what it was, but Eli didn’t. I hadn’t told him that Sunny had been “found”. I opened the box and let him lift the flaps up and he just about fainted when he saw him! He yelled out “SUNNY!” and grabbed him up and hugged and hugged him.
Anastasia was so kind, she added a tag on his neck (complete with a hand drawn picture of sunny… too cute!) and explained that Sunny had accidentally gotten separated from us at the grocery store and was so sad and missed us and now he is back and thanked us for a 2nd chance.
I have to say, I just LOVE the innocence of a child…and Eli truly believes that this is his other old Sunny back again, and that the grocery store “fixed” him. As a matter of fact, he has been telling everyone tonight that Sunny was at the grocery store eating steak and getting fixed! LOL
My son is usually not a chatty child (like my daughter can be LOL), but on the way to and from karate tonight he had Sunny in his lap and was playing with him in the back seat and just talking and talking and marveling about sunny and “he has a mouth”, “he has regular eyes”, “he doesn’t have any holes in his tail mom!”. It really was pretty cute. And he just loves the fact that sunny has his Velcro back. He loves to hang him on and from things.
I just can’t begin to tell you what a blessing your site is. I had already told so many other moms about this great service and will continue to tell moms about you and sing your praises because what you are doing really truly is WONDERFUL!
And, I will continue to check back to see if there is any stuffy’s in my house that someone else’s little one is searching for. Thank you so much for your site and connecting me with Anastasia! It means the world to me and especially to my son!
Thank you again! God bless you!

I am looking for a yellow plush lion that was sold at Target around late 2002 or early 2003. When my son was about 6 mos old we took him to Target and he “begged” for a toy (pointed and grunted). They had several of these same “style” of animals: pink cat, green frog, etc. He chose the lion on his own and since I was sick and tired of buying toys all the time decided that lion would stay in the car and be “traveling lion”.Well, he made his way into the house and my son’s heart – slept with it, ate with it, took it to daycare, EVERYWHERE! He liked to chew on his face for some reason, so the eyes had to be removed and replaced and since the animal got so stinky was bathed very regularly. Now the tag is washed out and unreadable!
He was renamed Sunny Lion by my son and is VERY much loved by him. The lion is, as mentioned, mainly yellow with a white pattern in his body, arm and leg fabric. Has a tail and an orange mane. The original eyes were black plastic. The arms are exaggeratedly long with Velcro on the hands, and the legs are plumper with a curve (looks like the poor thing has scurvy) to them and also Velcro on the feet.
I have searched eBay and Yahoo with no luck. I was smart enough to buy a back up… but it was lost in a grocery store some years ago and never seen since, and the original is so tattered that I am afraid that he will fall apart. My son will still occasionally ask after Sunny when we go to that grocery store or look around for him (and it has been YEARS!).
Any assistance in finding this lion would be very helpful! As mentioned, we bought it at Target in their regular stuffed animal isle, so I know it isn’t a brand like Gund or others mentioned here. I just call it the “Target brand” of stuffed animal. Thanks for any help you can offer!!!
Thank you so much for your site! I think that this is a MUCH NEEDED service for desperate parents out there!

This may be a Carter’s plush animal, but I’m not sure. The “Target brand”, as Carrie calls it is Animal Alley. If you know more about this lovey, please let us know.
One of our readers has corrected me:
I believe that Animal Alley is made by Toys R Us. If it was bought at Target it would be a The First Years, Munchin, Infantino, or Cuddle Zone.
If you can help Carrie find this orange mane lion, THIS SEARCH REQUEST IS NO LONGER ACTIVELY MANAGED. Please use Our FREE FACEBOOK GROUP, including #022608-2 in the subject, .
