My 3-year-old son lost his beloved “Blue Cow” blanket almost a year ago. He cried inconsolably for several weeks until I told him that Blue Cow was on vacation. Then he cried only on occasion.

I thought it was the right thing to do at the time, hoping that he would forget about it. Of course, he didn’t. He still asks about it, asks to go on vacation so he could find his blanket and ask, “Where were you?” It’s really heartbreaking.

The blanket was purchased at Baby Gap in the summer of 2004, months before my boy was born. It is solid light blue on one side and white with a light blue farm animal print (cows, sheep, barn, dog chickens) on the other. If I had to guess, I would say it was approximately 28 inches by 34 inches.

I’ve searched eBay, posted multiple want ads in multiple states on Craiglist, contacted mothers groups in the Bay Area, and called many Baby Gap outlet stores. I’ve even contacted the company’s managerial officers. Nothing.
