Thought you would enjoy this wonderful Christmas reunion story:
Hi Rosemary, hope you have had a very happy Christmas. I certainly did, thanks to you and your web site.
Thanks to the comment from one of your Fabulous Finders, I bought the velour bear from eBay, and found a supplier of a soft toy with the music You Are My Sunshine. It didn’t arrive until Christmas Eve.
I inserted the music box in the teddy, and we left him with his gift from Santa, and a note to say Santa found him and put some new clothes on him. Archie cried his eyes out as he was so happy. He said it was his best present, and he just loved this little guy, and he was never going to let him go again. The expense was worth every penny, about $100 for a small musical bear, but what the heck, as I said worth every penny to see his reaction.
I am so very glad I wrote you, and you can say he has been reunited and is ecstatic.
Thank you again so much for your help and advice.
Yours gratefully,
Lynne and Archie
This gorgeous soft Baby’s First Bear had a wind up music box playing You Are My Sunshine. He was about 9 inches long, in pastel colors – lemon and turquoise at the top, blue and pink on the bottom with cream head, feet and paws. He has a small blue bow tie. He was made from a velour type fabric, and he answers to the name of Jeremy. Sadly, we don’t have any photos.
My grandson’s had him for 11 years. I bought him in St. Thomas whilst on holiday in the Caribbean, and the youngest took him on holiday last year and left him at Gatwick airport.
He is still heart broken and has asked me for him for Christmas. If you have any idea which company makes a bear like this would you please let me know? And if anyone knows where there is one, I will be eternally grateful.
Ours had a patch on his back where his wind up key wore a hole in him, so I lovingly repaired Jeremy.
Regards,
Lynne
