Hi Rosemary,
Received my Casey Jones Knickerbocker dog in the mail today – it is AMAZING! Everything I was looking for! Thanks so much again…you can mark me “found!” 5 days before my birthday no less!
Thanks again for the help on my Knickerbocker dog. Absolutely overjoyed!
Randy
I’m looking for a 70’s Knickerbocker Casey Jones beagle dog wearing gray and blue striped railroad engineer overalls and cap.I had one of these Casey Jones dogs given to me by my aunt way before my memory can even recall. I had a lot of toys as many kids do, but this dog was THE toy. He was my companion. He was the one to go on every vacation with me and even was with me during two ear surgeries when I was 8 (the hospital nurses put a surgery cap on him as well)! Until recently, I didn’t know what the dog was called, so as a toddler, I just named him ‘Brown Puppy’. Very creative, I know. ๐
Women at the mall would come up to me when my mother was shopping and ask me what my stuffed dog’s name was. I’d, of course, reply, “Brown Puppy.” Not getting it, they would correct me and say, “No, honey, not what IS he, what’s his NAME?” Again, I’d respond with, “Brown Puppy”. ๐
Over the long decade of the 80’s, Brown Puppy lost an eye (a screaming fit at a local shopping center when we could not locate it!), lost his scarf, and until the other day, I didn’t even realize he had a black dot nose and red circle mouth! I still have him carefully stored, but would love to pick up a newer, less worn version. He’s a little bit for me, and a little bit for a future son of mine one day. Maybe he, too, will enjoy a Brown Puppy. ๐
Any help at all locating one would be so so greatly appreciated. I can think of no better 30th birthday present to myself this fall/winter!
Thanks,
Randy
