My 6 year old daughter has lost both of her Mary Meyer pink chamois blankie bears. Both were purchased in 2002, and they don’t contain the details of today’s Mary Meyer bears. It looks much like today’s version, except it’s all pink, without the seersucker.Grandma bought the first “Bear” for my daughter’s first Christmas. She didn’t wrap it, because she was disappointed with the way it looked when she got it, and was going to return it. She showed it to us as an afterthought and was putting it back in the original packaging when my daughter grabbed it and took it to bed. That was 6-1/2 years ago, she’s slept with it every night since (until recently).
We bought two more as a backup, thinking that would suffice until she grew older. Well…..we decided to return one of those a year later because we still had two and all was going swimmingly. Then, when she was 4-1/2 she left the original Bear in my office and the overnight cleaning crew did their job. That left one Bear.
All was well until about a month ago, when Bear simply disappeared. We have searched high and low, but no sign of her yet.
BTW – I highly recommend these Mary Meyer toys. They seem to last for a very long time. Despite the wear and tear, Bear #1 was barely frayed after 4 years, and Bear #2 made it 2 years with hardly a stitch out of place.
Thank you,
Katherine
