Lisa is still looking for an 80’s plush yellow musical car. This picture is my attempt to show the shape, based on a stuffed car listing Lisa found and I edited to remove the details and make it yellow.

I’m looking for a soft stuffed yellow car that was about 7 inches long and wound up to play “You Are My Sunshine”.

I do not have any photos of the car. It was actually pretty plain, no flaps that opened at the doors, and I don’t recall any bumpers being screen printed. The whole thing was yellow – tires and windows were not a different color. It was more of a toy for infants, with a very short, smooth, furry covering. It was not cloth. It did seem kind of rounded at the top, like a Volkswagen Beetle.

I had to give up my baby girl for adoption in 1983. I bought this car for her before she was placed and asked the adoption agency to pass it along to her new parents. It was my hope that her parents would have told her it was from me. I always sang the song “You Are My Sunshine” to my daughter when I was pregnant and when I cared for her in the hospital. She contacted me a couple of years ago, and we have started to form a friendship. Sadly, she never got the little yellow car.

It would mean a lot to be able to give it to her now.
