I’m looking for a Prestige baby duck rattle, around 9 inches long with a white terry cloth head, blue embroidered eyes, and velour-type pink lips. On the top of her head, she has yellow “feathers”, only it is one sewn piece of waffle-type material, the same as her body. Her body is pale yellow, with a waffle-type material, and she has a white ribbon around her neck. Her chest is white, and a velour-type soft material, with a bunny and a star patch on it. Her feet are pink velour.
My 5 year old son lost “Dolly” a few months ago, and he was devastated, as well as I. He has loved her, and she has not left his side since he was an infant. While I usually did not allow him to take her out and about, I had become more lenient about that rule. Well, wouldn’t you know, we must have taken her out on errands one day and left her somewhere? It wasn’t unusual for her to “go missing” every once in a while in the house, since my little guy was forever leaving her somewhere. But when more than a few days went by, I really became worried.
Months later, she has never turned up, and I revisited or called every place I could think of where she could have been left. She was in well-loved condition, so I am sure she was just tossed into the trash if she was ever found, and this breaks my heart even more!
I told my son that Dolly went on a trip, not having the heart to tell him that she was lost, and that seemed to put him at ease. Now, however, he’s begun asking for her again, and crying. He doesn’t understand why Dolly’s vacation has to be so long! I bought two different lovies on eBay for him, which he sleeps with, one is the exact replica of ”Dolly”, only much larger. He loves them, but it’s just not the same.
I am hoping that I can find one soon for him, so that Dolly can finally come back home.
Thanks!
Susan
