We received this email from Peggy after she bought the elephant she had been searching for from us.
Hi! I am deployed to Iraq for 15-months. My husband is taking care of our three kids, Olivia 6, Charlie 4 1/2, and Mia almost 3. While I have been gone, about 9 Months ago, Olivia lost her Lovie, Happy Ele (My First Friend velour elephant) on a bike ride or (best case) lost somewhere in the house.
She has been OK about it, but of all her animals, Happy is the one who she talks about when she is making presents. Every day “I am making a present for Happy’s Birthday!” Sometime she says,” when you get home can we look for Happy?”.
I cannot tell you how happy I was that I finally found your site! I have been looking for a back up for Happy for three years. and was stressed for when the day came when it would actually be lost.
Now, we are very lucky, the kids are doing well with me gone, I sing to them on the phone at bedtime. Pete is exhausted after working all day, and then putting three little kids to bed at night for 15-months! There are no such things as days off.
This is a little victory for us! I come home in about 8-weeks hopefully to never have to be away again. Thanks for your site!
All the best,
Major Peggy
I wrote her back…
I’m so glad we could help you recover this most valued lovie! You must be planning on bringing home Happy Ele when you come back to the States. But I am sure it’s having Mama back that she will be overjoyed about!
We support all you are doing over there to make America a safer place.
God bless you,
Rosemary
And she replied…
I am so psyched about bringing Happy Ele home! Thanks so much for your kind words. It means so much to me to know I have your support!
The kids are just adorable over here as all children everywhere are and when I see them I know I am doing the right thing! I just shared baby pictures today with an Iraqi journalist who has four little girls. It’s all good.
Thanks again!
Warmest Regards,
Peggy
