We now have a mailing list of people looking for Rufus.
I lost my talking Rufus the Lion about 12 years ago. He was made in the 70’s and had a pull string to talk. I wish I did have a picture, but I don’t. He was kind of a yellowish brown, had a pull string at the back of his neck, an outie belly button, round, flat black plastic eyes with white felt behind them, I’m sure he had a bushy mane when he was new, but he was kind of like the velveteen rabbit when he was lost 🙁He said, “I’m Rufus the Lion, I love you, I’ll be yours for life,” and a couple other phrases. He was my one favorite toy throughout my childhood and was what I would cuddle through bad times in my adulthood.
I can’t find any info anywhere on the web about this toy, except that he may have been sold at Montgomery Ward. If I can find another one, it will come no where close to the one I lost, but he would be cherished just the same.
