When my wife was young, she was very sick, and her parents ended up getting her a stuffed dog while she was in the hospital. This stuffed animal is very important to her, since it got her through a very rough time. She has mentioned before that the name on the dog’s tag is “Clyde Dog Small” (turned out to be Clarence) and she always figured there must be a Clyde Dog Big out there, too.
I contacted the company who made it, Manhattan Toys, and they confirmed that they did at one time make a larger size. Sadly, my wife is very sick again, and I know finding this toy would help to lift her spirits and would really mean a lot to her.
I’m so sorry it has taken me this long to get back to you on this, as things have been a little crazy the past few weeks. I was able to get a photo and the year that is on the tag. She got the dog while she was in the hospital for about 4 months in high school, so it’s not that old, The tag said 2001. He is a light brown/tan dog with floppy ears and a long floppy arms. He sits upright on his hind legs and the are beans in the feet and bottom to keep him stationary. He has big eyebrows and little black eyes.
